Services Performed:

  • Restaurants closed over a 90 day period will require our Hand Drawn Blueprints submitted to Health Department Plan-Check for review and stamping. Example: The floor plan, site plan, reflected ceiling plan, elevations of the Hood and cook line, elevations of the prep sink and drain line.
  • Our Hand Crafted blueprints are included with our $2,700 Health Department Pre-Inspection Fee.
  • Equipment under the Hood: Inspected.
  • Review of the Furniture, Fixtures, Equipment “attached and non attached”: Checked for working condition.
  • The grease interceptor: Located in the ground is checked.
  • The grease trap: Located under or alongside the 3 compartment sink is checked.
  • grandfather allowances for a grease barrel: Checked
  • Hood Fire Inspection: A receipt by our Hood Fire Inspection for the Insurance Company is generated listing the work performed and findings. Hood condition checked. Hood Shaft to the roof checked for Grease Cleaning. Return air “swamp cooler on roof” checked; belts, motor, exhaust flow. Hood Fire extinguisher feeding the Sprinkler System, tag  checked “expiration date”. Silver Kitchen fire extinguisher tag  checked “expiration date”. Dining Area Red fire extinguisher tag  checked “expiration date”. Backside of the Hood filters checked for Grease. Hood Cable and Hood “Link dates” behind the Hood Filters are checked.
  • HVAC: Blowing Cold.
  • ADA Bathrooms: We look for code compliance, if not under Grandfather Protection.
  • Plumbing: Floor Drains, Floor Sinks, 3 Sink Compartment, Hand Sink, Prep Sink, Mop Sink.
  • Walling materials, Ceiling materials, Flooring Materials and Cove Moldings: We check for code compliance.
  • Electric water heater: Kilowatt minimum allowance depends on the water usage.
  • Remodeling: Visible Kitchen and Dining Area alterations.
  • Restaurant Owners are required to brief Penthouse Advisors INC., on what alteration work was made.

Important Note: Blueprint stamping is required by Health Department Plan-Check before any remodeling, alterations, moving equipment under the Hood, changing the floor plan in any way commences. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING UNTIL PRE-INSPECTED BY PENTHOUSE ADVISORS INC. Contact Penthouse Advisors INC., to bid on all construction work. All work is performed by our Licensed, Bonded, Inhouse, General Contractor under Penthouse Advisors INC. supervision.

3. WARNING! HEALTH DEPARTMENT CODE COMPLIANCE: RESTAURANT REMODELING, CHANGING EQUIPMENT LINE UNDER THE HOOD, “PRIOR TO” SITE INSPECTIONS IS FORBIDDEN. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PLAY THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT FOR STUPID.

  • FORBIDDEN: Service Counters, can not be updated, changed or modified in any way.
  • FORBIDDEN: Exposed Wood surfaces on Restaurant Kitchen Serving Counters, Shelving, Dry Storage, inside the Walk-in Refrigerator or Freezer are Banned. Wood breads bacteria, therefore it is not permissible.
  • FORBIDDEN: Existing walls can not be moved, or built-out.
  • FORBIDDEN: Gas Equipment under the Hood, can not be updated with newly installed equipment or moved.
  • FORBIDDEN: Equipment fueled by Natural Gas under the Hood installed by non licensed plumbers. Only a C-36 Licensed Plumber pulling an express plumbing permit followed by Building and Safety signoff for Health Department Plan-Check approval is allowed.
  • FORBIDDEN: Equipment can not be installed without NSF us/URL sanitized labels.
  • FORBIDDEN: Restrooms can not be modified or updated.

4. The Penthouse Advisors INC., Initial Health Department Inspection Covers the Below:

  • Restaurant Health Dept., Pre-Inspections for any and all equipment installed under the Hood, changing the floor plan, change of Ownership, Equipment Red Tagged.
  • Review of the Furniture, Fixtures, Equipment “attached and non attached” for working condition.
  • Health Department Code approved labeling on all Kitchen equipment, “NSF us or URL sanitized”.
  • The grease interceptor, grease trap, or grandfather allowed grease barrels.
  • Hood inspection stickers to date.
  • Fire Extinguishers, Silver and Red tags to date.
  • Hood Filters, Hood Exhaust Shaft, Cable Links.
  • Hood Return air motor on Roof.
  • HVAC Blowing Cold.
  • ADA Bathrooms in code compliance if not under Grandfather Protection.
  • Floor Drains, Floor Sinks, 3 Sink Compartment, Hand Sink, Prep Sink, Mop Sink.
  • Walling materials, Ceiling materials, Flooring Materials and Cove Moldings.
  • Water temperature checked.
  • Electric water heater stating,”10 Kilowatts” minimum allowance.
  • Visible Kitchen and Dining Area, alterations.
  • Hood and Fire Extinguishers Service by our Licensed Fire Department Hood Contractor. Separate agreement
  • Hood Velocity Testing measuring the speed of air moving through the ventilation system. Separate agreement
  • Hood Smoke Testing evaluating airflow patterns and identifying potential issues in the ventilation system. Separate agreement
  • Hood Testing, Repairs and Modifications are in conjunction with “LADBS” Los Angeles Dept of Building and Safety inspection sign off. Separate agreement

5. Restaurants not in Health Department Code Compliance: Penthouse Advisors INC., Blueprints are Hand Drafted to scale for Health Dept Plan-Check review and stamping, prior to New Equipment is installed under the hood, Restaurant Remodel or Alteration work commencement dates, which is included in the $2,700 fee.

6. IMPORTANT ADVISE: Restaurant alteration work can resume or commence ONLY AFTER Blueprint Stamping .

Penthouse Advisors INC., Licensed GC General Contractor will bid on the required work (Separate Agreement) followed by a site evaluation appointment with the assigned Health Department Plan-Check Inspector to generate permitting and facilitate the ID.

7. Restaurant Equipment Red Tagged. We resolve the Red Tagged issue in conjunction with our Licensed, General Contractor’s Minimum $2,500 charge, paid directly to the GC.
